I’ve been to Rare Society three times now, and each visit has been consistently excellent.
The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance—elevated yet relaxed, with a true North County vibe. The space feels just right, with both the dining room and patio offering an intimate, welcoming setting that allows for attentive service.
The staff is always friendly, personable, and stylish—definitely adding to the charm.
As with most restaurants, not every dish shines equally when you sample a large portion of the menu, but the overall quality and care in the food is undeniable. My personal favorite? The wood-grilled lamb lollipops—absolutely outstanding.
As a big fan of Trust and Fort Oak, I’ve noticed that restaurants venturing north of Del Mar often struggle to deliver the same level of consistency. Rare Society is the rare exception. It’s solid, reliable, and worth checking out.
