We went to Merenda last night after reading about it in San Diego Magazine.
I absolutely loved the vibe there—warm, inviting, and effortlessly stylish. The wine selection was thoughtful, the service attentive, and the food … exceptional. Great music, too!
At first, I was a bit hesitant due to the limited menu, but any doubts quickly disappeared. What they offer, they execute with precision and creativity. The chef’s plate (charcuterie) was a standout—beautifully shaved meats paired with perfectly aged cheeses. The beet confit salad was another highlight: a vibrant mix of beets, fennel, orange, mint, pistachio, and a tangy yogurt dressing that brought it all together.
My friends were equally impressed with their choices: the chilled mussels, Calabrian sausage spread, and the pasta of the day all earned rave reviews.
A fantastic addition to the Oceanside dining scene—this place is definitely worth a visit.
